PROJECT OVERVIEW

Welch Comer designed improvements to an existing raw water intake on an environmentally sensitive watershed for the Pend Oreille PUD in 2010. The design included structural repairs to an existing raw water intake facility. The intake provides a water source to the water treatment facility serving the town of Metaline Falls, Washington. Substantial portions of the concrete structure were in need of structural repairs.  Improvements were also made to the intake to make it easier to clean and to make it safer for the native trout population.
